The process of legalizing a marriage can be complicated. When we are from a country outside of Spain, we must take into account the various requirements to marry under Spanish law. It is not possible for non-residents or foreigners to legalize marriage in Spain, although there are possibilities if one of the members of the house has Spanish nationality or has resided in Spain for at least two years.

Assuming that most couples looking to get married in Spain do not meet these requirements, we tend to value other options. The simplest way is to complete the marriage legal process in the country of origin, and plan for a destination Spain wedding or enjoy the reception in the Spain. In this way, all bureaucracies are easily handled at home and you can then focus on celebrations when traveling abroad. 

Destination wedding in the Spanish coast

Spain is a very diverse country, which is an advantage, as you will always find places that appeal to everyone and where you can celebrate your wedding in style. Each region of Spain has its charm and climate, so it is worth analyzing them in detail. The possibilities for getting married on the Spanish islands of Costa Blanca, Catalonia and Andalusia are also high.

The Spanish coast

Celebrating weddings in Spain on one of the Spanish coasts is a great option if you dream of getting married on the beach. Moreover, there is no doubt that all coasts have differences that you should take into account. The Costa del Sol is probably one of the best-known coastal areas in Spain. With Malaga’s international airport, this part of the country gains an important centrality with its excellent connections to the rest of Europe. Its climate is temperate, the beaches are perfect and there is very little chance of bad weather on your wedding day. If you are looking for something different then the Costa de la Luz could be perfect for you. It is not as well known as the Costa del Sol, but it is not far behind. On this coast, the beaches are quieter and have a wonderful golden hue.

The rest of Spain

Getting married on the south east coast of the country is a very attractive option, but let us not forget the beautiful coastlines of the rest of the country, especially the coast of northern Spain. The place is internationally known for its pristine nature and beautiful green areas that make it a dream place to celebrate a wedding. Communities such as Galicia and Asturias may not be suitable for a winter wedding, but in summer, the temperatures are very pleasant. It may not be the first place that crosses your mind to tie the knot.
